pH Elevation Unit

Some waters can attack metals such as Copper and Lead. This can cause elevated levels of these metals in the water and failure of pipe work and hot water cylinders. Shakesby PHUP units are used to correct the aggressive nature of the water thus eliminating the problem.

Description

In some areas water supplies from wells and boreholes can be aggressive to metal. This ‘acid water’ as it is often called, can play havoc with domestic plumbing systems and in particular copper hot water cylinders and central heating radiators. In addition the dissolved copper compounds often cause unsightly blue-green stains to be deposited on sinks, baths and sanitary ware. The Shakesby range of PH Elevation units are designed to solve this problem by raising the pH level of the water.

The unit is simply connected into the incoming water supply.

The simplest means of connection is to fit a bypass valve ( supplied separately) into the water supply pipe which diverts the water through the PH Elevation unit via a pair of flexible hoses.

This makes installation and servicing very easy and also enables the pH to be adjusted to specific required levels.

Filtration systems are also available for the removal of iron and manganese.
